I’ve spent most of my time as a student of life and spiritual things. The bible is my greatest point of reference and it has led me to positive understandings about myself and others. As a young boy I thought about being a journalist because of my love for short stories, but as time progressed I moved on from pursuing journalism. The passion for writing stories has always been there, surfacing through creating characters and developing short stories that were a part of my own private collection. Because I was raised in church you come in contact with people from various walks of life, and you won’t find a better place for characters. Understanding personality traits is my thing, so when I’m sitting in the airport I love to people watch, and learn how people communicate verbally and non-verbally. Life is about listening and when you take the time to listen you learn great things (mainly about yourself). I was that quiet child that was a sponge, soaking up everything in my environment and like a recorder re-playing it back during times of recreation. I’m thankful for the type writer and the keyboard as I found out early that writing pieces by hand wouldn’t be my strong point. So I began to draft up skits that could be walked out easily, but at the same time send a strong message. Most recently in 2017 I went from being the traditional minister and I was expanded into a role that’s about helping the family co-exist together in unity. I serve creating skits and role plays every week within a platform called “Empowering the Blended Family” this platform allows me to talk about things like (child support, divorce, death in the family, financial issues). Things that you can’t typically address within a regular worship service, I’m able to tackle real life issues utilizing an open forum environment https://www.facebook.com/EBFamily/. This environment like the dinner table of old has people who share their life’s experience and wisdom. This Blended family provides a fun and insightful approach that includes statistics about any type of family challenge you can think of. Life can be weighty at times so the skits I create allow the parishioner or attendee to see themselves in a different light (providing some comic relief as well). Taking it a step further I create role plays that offer solutions and the right way to handle life’s challenges.  Last year like a director, I began to see what I wrote being walked out by good actors and I saw how people learned to laugh through tough times while embracing new information. The turning point for me saying to myself “Now is the time” to write my first book was back in October 2017. I went to see (Hamilton) in Chicago and the show was absolutely amazing. Like being baptized I received clarity in that moment that I need to write like a man that was running out of time. I had been writing skits and role plays aggressively but after Chicago I spent late nights and early days writing and it felt amazing to get everything I’d learned out into a format that could help people. My life’s goal is to be a solution in my family, community and world. Directing people to the type of love that matters most (Godly love) that is sacrificial in nature. Life is about loving God and then learning how to love people from all walks of life. Because God is love!!!!!
